June 10-12, 2013 were dedicated to the field of “Biometrics and Biostatistics” by OMICS Group when they hosted their 2^nd international conference on Biometrics and Biostatistics at Hilton Chicago/Northbrook, USA. The conference was the most innovative event that had participants from all across the globe.

The conference attracted the research community, universities and statistical associations who were interested in learning more about the challenges and opportunities associated with biometrics and biostatistics. 9 different tracks and 42 sessions were designed under the theme “New Research Strategies in Biometrics and Biostatistics”. All the sessions, poster presentations and workshop invigorated the conference.

Ronald L. Wasserstein, Executive Director, American Statistical Association, USA, presented a keynote talk on “Celebrating the International year of Statistics” that talked about the year long celebration of the profession and its impact on the world around us. This was followed by another keynote session on “Advances in EM-test for testing the order of a finite mixture” by Dr. Pengfei Li, University of Waterloo, Canada. Each of the speakers did a great job. All the sessions were followed with great interest by a large audience.

Fellow researchers and students actively participated in the Poster presentations. OMICS congratulate all the participants for their outstanding efforts in the field of Biometrics and Biostatistics. Best poster awards were given to: Cristy Phillips, Arkansas State University, USA, Yuling Xiong, Loyola University Chicago, USA, Yuchen Yang, University of Kentucky, USA, Unal Demirtas, Gulhane Military Medical Academy, Turkey.
