Importance and Scope
Clinical Trials are research studies involving human as subject which leads to discovery of new treatment methods. It helps the investigator to analyze the efficacy of new treatment over existing methods. According to the American Cancer Society, about 1,000 potential medicines are tested before one makes it to clinical trials. This statistics creates a challenge for the Research Institutes, CROs and other Investigation Sties of different Pharmaceutical and Medical device industries. In rare cases, clinical trial volunteers have been hurt by the treatment or procedure being tested. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of people have been helped and are alive because other people chose to participate in a trial that resulted in a new, more effective treatment. With all this points in our mind, the proposed program of International Conference on Clinical Trials will focus on all the sphere of recent advancement in Clinical Trials, Outsourcing of Clinical Data along with networking.
The conference will provide a platform to all the Investigators and Methodologists to interact with Industry representatives so that they can share their experience and knowledge in the related field of clinical study and how to implement them on application ground. Clinical Trials Management System has made enormous progress in past few years, and according to Transparency Market Research [Source: Ref5], Clinical Trials Management System has estimated compound annual growth rate of 14% during the forecast period, the worldwide Clinical Trials Management System market is expected to acquire market value worth US$1,848.5 million by 2019.
Why Orlando?
As per the record of clinicaltrials.gov, Florida is ranked fourth in USA for conducting Clinical Trials, with 14,201 registered Clinical Trials in the year 2014 till September 26th. In Florida, 79 Major Clinical Trials center, such as CROs, and around 61 Healthcare centers are associated which are involved in conducting Clinical Trials. The major centers for conducting Clinical Trials are Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Clearwater and St Petersburg. With large number of Clinical Trials centers and Hospitals as compared to other states of USA, Florida is suitable for various industries and Investigators of Clinical Research Organization to be able to attend the conference in order to share their knowledge and experience in this field. Fund Allotment to Clinical Trials
The NIH Clinical Trial Planning Grant Program (R34) supports development of Phase III clinical trials. This program supports
Establishment of the research team
Development of tools for data management and research oversight
Definition of recruitment strategies
Finalization of the protocol
Preparation of an operations/procedures manual
The Clinical Trial Planning Grant is not designed for the collection of preliminary data or the conduct of pilot studies to support the rationale for a clinical trial.
The trial is also funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), NCI-Designated Cancer Centers, NCI-Sponsored Clinical Trials Cooperative Groups and all other Federal agencies that fund cancer research. Other trials may be eligible for coverage and doctors can ask Medicare to pay the patients costs. Patients should ask their doctor about this before beginning a clinical trial. [Source: Ref6]
