The science concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the teeth, gums, and related structures of the mouth and including the repair or replacement of defective teeth is Dentistry. Oral Health is the absence of active disease in the mouth. It affects overall wellbeing and enables people to participate in their chosen roles without discomfort or embarrassment. Oral health is a basic expectation of all. Oral health and disease are important in their own right and for their association with general health. Dental amalgam, also known as ‘silver fillings’, have been used as a reliable, efficient, long-lasting and safe filling material for over 100 years. 

Dental Diseases are Europe’s most  prevalent health problem. Oral cancer is the 5th most important cancer in men in Europe. According to WHO, In Spain, nearly 1 in 5 people suffers with periodontitis. It has been estimated that Dental services in Spain are provided through a network of 18,300 public and private dental offices. Moreover, 26,000 dentists’ and commercial laboratories are active, with 7,500 dental technicians operating either as owners or employees. Worldwide, 60–90% of school children and nearly 100% of adults have dental cavities. Dental cavities can be prevented by maintaining a constant low level of fluoride in the oral cavity. Severe periodontal (gum) disease, which may result in tooth loss, is found in 15–20% of middle-aged (35-44 years) adults. Globally, about 30% of people aged 65–74 have no natural teeth. Oral disease in children and adults is higher among poor and disadvantaged population groups.

Importance & Scope:

             Oral health is essential to general health and quality of life. It is a state of being free from mouth and facial pain, oral and throat cancer, oral infection and sores, periodontal (gum) disease, tooth decay, tooth loss, and other diseases and disorders that limit an individual’s capacity in biting, chewing, smiling, speaking, and psychosocial wellbeing. Worldwide, 60–90% of school children and nearly 100% of adults have dental cavities. Euro Dental-2015 aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of dental & Oral Health. It also provides the chance for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in the fields of Dental & Oral Health.

Only ten minutes by car from the airport, with a regular, cheap bus service and a taxi fare of only €15 the city is easily accessible. Alicante, situated on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, offers not only a great variety of services but also a wide range of cultural activities, with its museums, its festivals and its nature areas, in particular the Island of Tabarca (Mediterranean Marine Reserve).
