Hepatology 2016 Past Conference Report

2nd International Conference on Hepatology (Hepatology-2016) organised by Conference Series LLC took place at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - North Shore, Chicago, USA during May 09-11, 2016. The conference highlighted the theme, “To discuss and share the latest updates and cutting-edge technologies in the field of Hepatology”. It is an annual meeting for the study of Liver and Pancreatic diseases.

We successfully hosted Hepatology 2016 conference with the support and contribution of the organizing committee members. The conference was marked with the presence of renowned scientists, talented young researchers, students and business delegates driving the three days event into the path of success with thought provoking keynote and plenary presentations. Active participation and generous response were received from the Organizing Committee Members and Editorial Board Members of Conference Series LLC Journals. Professors, Researchers, and Students from diverse groups made this conference as one of the most successful and productive event in 2016 from Conference Series LLC.

The conference was initiated with a warm welcome note from Honorable guests and the Keynote forum lead by Dr. David Van Thiel, Rush University Medical Center, USA followed by Dr. Trent W Nichols, AMRI, USA. Our special thanks to Dr. Eve Isabelle Pecheur, Cancer Research Center of Lyon, France and Dr. Sumathi Ramachandran, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA, the Honorable Moderators for the conference who contributed a major part for the success of this event.

The highlights of the meeting were the enlightening keynote lectures from:

  • Dr. David Van Thiel, Rush University Medical Center, USA on the topic, “Endocan a valuable biomarker for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)”.
  • Dr. Trent W Nichols, AMRI, USA on the topic, “Wnt signaling in hepatocellular carcinoma, an emerging epidemic: Gene up regulation of Wnt 5a pathways with toll receptor 4 with moderated magnetic fields on human stem cells and mice and high dose vitamin D3 prevention”.
  • Mark A Feitelson, Temple University, USA on the topic, “Symbiotic bacteria provide chemoprevention against hepatitis B virus mediated hepatocellular carcinoma in hepatitis B x transgenic mice”.
  • Eve-Isabelle Pecheur, Cancer Research Center of Lyon, France on the topic, “Hepatitis C virus infection: A subtle but toxic combination of lipids, proteins and sugars”.
  • Anil Kaul, Oklahoma State University, USA on the topic, “Microflora and TLRs in HCV-related cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma”.

The conference proceedings were carried out through various scientific sessions and plenary lectures:

  • Title: Connexins and pannexins as novel drug targets in the treatment of acute and chronic liver disease lectured by Mathieu Vinken, Free University Brussels, Belgium.
  • Title: Hepatitis B and C care in the opiate substitution setting-An integrated nursing model of care delivered by Vince Fragomeli, Nepean Hospital, Australia.
  • Title: Using NUCs in prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HBV: To treat or not to treat? given by Yuming Wang, Third Military Medical University, China.
  • Title: Hepatitis outbreaks and surveillance: Advanced molecular detection and beyond presented by Sumathi Ramachandran, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA.
  • Title: The regulation and functional roles of the HCV NS5A-stabilizing factor, Y-Box binding protein 1, in HCV life cycle shared by Wei-Ting Wang, National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan.
  • Title: Hepatitis B virus in Cote d Ivoire (West Africa) lectured by Alphonsine Kouassi-M Bengue, University Felix Houphouet Boigny, Cote d Ivoire.
  • Title: Epidemiological characteristics of hepatocellular carcinoma in Egypt: A retrospective analysis of 1313 cases shared by Mohammed Omar Khalifa, Ain Shams University School of Medicine, Egypt.
  • Title: Anticancer activity of Aloe vera and Calligonum comosum extracts separately on hepatocellular carcinoma cells given by Mahmoud M Zakaria Ibrahim, Mansoura University, Egypt.
  • Title: HCV diagnosis in China by Bingshui Xiu, Beijing Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, China.
