Medical Physics-2015 Report

OMICS International hosted the “International Conference on Medical Physics” during August 3-5, 2015 in Birmingham with the theme “Discovering the new possibilities and diversified applications of medical physics”, which was a great success, where eminent Keynote speakers from various reputed institutions and organizations had an insight with their enchanting sheer presence.

Medical Physics-2015 was organized in a signatory approach with diverse and dynamic group of speakers. The panelists have provided in-depth insight, as well as, actionable and practical tools of engagement models, methods and mechanisms that have worked and were able to share how the key areas such as healthcare, investment and education outreach.

The conference witnessed an amalgamation of paramount speakers as:

Gad Shani, Ben Gurion University, Israel, presented a paper on “The use of beta-gamma source for HDR brachy-therapy” 

Cecilia Arsene, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania, gave an insight on “Chemical composition of aerosols, a fragile barrier between healing and wounding”

Geoffrey Mitchell, Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development, Institute Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal, enlightened the audience by presenting on “The opportunities for direct digital manufacturing in medicine”

Robert Davidson, University of Canberra, Australia, spoke on “Contrast-detail measurements in CT – A new image quality evaluation methodology”

Sarah S Knox, of the West Virginia University, School of Public Health, USA, presented a paper on “Biophysical signaling in carcinogenesis: Implications for therapeutics”

William C Barber from D X Ray Inc, USA, gave an insight on “X-ray detectors for spectral photon counting in radiology”

Dr. Nicolas Pourel, Institut Sainte-Catherine, France, gave a knowledge oriented talk about the “Patient information duties in radiation oncology” and also his sublimed workshop on “How to deliver fair and understandable information to the patient concerning its treatment” exalted the conference to the next level.

All the papers presented at the conference will be published in the proceedings of the Journal ‘Nuclear Medicine and Radiation therapy’.
