Microbial Interactions 2017 Conference Report
The 12th International Congress on Microbial Interaction and Applications of Beneficial Microbes conference: (Microbial Interactions 2017) was hosted by Conference Series LLC took place during July 17-18, 2017 at Holiday Inn Munich - City Centre in Munich, Germany. This conference brought together an interdisciplinary group of professionals in the field of Microbiology. The tone of the main conference was set during the opening remarks by Dr Konstantinos Kormas, University of Thessaly, Greece & Dr Susanne Zeilinger, University of Innsbruck, Austria.
The conference was marked with the presence of renowned scientists, talented young researchers, students and business delegates driving the two days event into the path of success with thought provoking keynote and plenary presentations highlighting the theme, “Empowering microbial interactions-its evolution, diversity and role”.
The conference proceedings were carried out through various Scientific-sessions and plenary lectures, poster presentations, video presentations of which the following topics were highlighted as Keynote presentations:
- “Bacteria as true residents in the gastrointestinal tract of commercially reared fish.” by Konstantinos Kormas, University of Thessaly, Greece
- “From genes to biocontrol: Unraveling the molecular mechanisms of mycoparasitic fungus-fungus interactions.” by Susanne Zeilinger, University of Innsbruck, Austria
- “Numerical modeling of the mechanical interaction of a bacterium.” by Raimondas Jasevicius, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania
- “Insect-derived beneficial microbes for industrial applications.” by Andreas Vilcinskas, University of Giessen, Germany
- “Biological control of plant pathogens with the use of beneficial bacteria and lytic bacteriophages - fact or fiction?” by Robert Czajkowski, Poland, University of Gdansk, Poland
- “Participation of bacteria and yeasts in the AIDS process: evolutionary view.” by Vladimir Zajac, Cancer Research Institute of Slovak Academy of Sciences, Slovakia
The conference was well-attended with the majority of participants from Europe. We also welcomed international delegates from China, Mexico, India, Egypt and South Korea as well.
Various sessions were chaired and co-chaired by:
