Hyderabad is the capital and the most populous city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is known as the City of Pearls and the City of Nizams and emerged as a major global center for the information technology (IT) industry and biopharmaceutical industry. Hyderabad is spread over an area of 650 km2 and situated on Deccan Plateau in northwest Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad has a combination of a tropical wet and dry climate that borders on a hot semi-arid climate. The city is sixth highest among the richest cities in India and the second best for doing business published by the World Bank Group.
Hyderabad is a biopharmaceutical hub of the world and India's pharmaceutical capital. The establishment of public sector in life science research and the purposely built Genome Valley, Fab City and the Nano Technology park establish extensive infrastructure in bio-technology industry to set up their head offices, warehouses, research and development centers in the city. |
