Cholesterol is being synthesis by each and every cell in its simpler form. Approximately 1 g of cholesterol has been synthesis each day for a man weighing 68 kg. However, in United States of America total dietary consumption of additional cholesterol is 200-300 mg. This additional cholesterol has been compensated by our body by reducing the synthesis of cholesterol. Cholesterol Medicine List Entities like Basic Science of Obesity and Overweigth .The main function of cholesterol is maintenance and formation of membranes which modulates membrane fluidity. Health Risks Associated with Obesity Some major sources of cholesterol are fish, poultry, egg yolk, beef, shrimp etc. It has been found that the first line of treatment for abnormal cholesterol is usually to eat a diet low in saturated and Tran’s fats which includes fruits and vegetables. Clinical Research and Interventions Doctor often recommends the patients suffering from high cholesterol to do more and more physical exercises. However, these changes alone are not enough to lower blood cholesterol levels.

Scope and Importance:
Cholesterol is critical to the normal function of every cell in the body. However, it also contributes to the development of atherosclerosis, a condition in which cholesterol-containing plaques form within arteries. These plaques block the arteries and reduce the flow of blood to the tissues the arteries supply. When plaques rupture, a blood clot forms on the plaque, thereby further blocking the artery and reducing the flow of blood.
Sometimes a patient may need medicine to bring down their cholesterol to a safe level. It has been observed that statins (a medicine used for the treatment) block the production of cholesterol in the liver itself. Their function is to reduce the amount of bad cholesterol and to increase the amount of that cholesterol which is good for human health. That is why these drugs are the first line of treatment for most people with high cholesterol. Statins have been shown in multiple research studies to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attacks and death from heart disease. Side effects can include intestinal problems damage of lever and inflammation in muscle which is often accomplished with muscular pain. It has been seen by the researchers that statins also carry warnings that memory loss, confusion and mental retardation, increase in blood sugar and type 2 diabetes are possible side effects. It should be noted that statins may also interact with other medications you take. Another medicine used in the treatment is Nicotinic acid (niacin) which is a B-complex vitamin. Niacin is found in food and is also available at high doses by prescription. It is seen that it lowers LDL cholesterol and raises HDL cholesterol. Some major side effects are pain in head and itching of skin. However bile acid drugs work inside the intestine. They bind to bile from the liver and prevent it from being reabsorbed into the circulatory system. It is well known that bile is made largely from cholesterol. That is why these drugs work by depleting the body's supply of cholesterol. Some major side effects are constipation and upset stomach. There is increased number of conferences on medicines for cholesterol due to increase number of cases. Statistically an increment has been found in the number of conferences year by year.
Market Analysis:
As a society we spend heavily for prescription drugs to manage high cholesterol levels. These drugs represented the 7th-highest category among all drugs in terms of dollars, at $13.6 billion in 2013.
