Biography
Jian Kong currently works at Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed his research fellowship in Psychiatric Neuroimaging from Harvard Medical School in 2003 and persuaded his M.P.H., Quantitative Method from Harvard University in the year 2009. He has been appointed at different academic positions in the university institutions of China, Japan and United States. He is also contributing his support in various Editorial activities along with more than 50 publications and peer-reviewed articles.
Abstract
Drug addiction is a major public health problem with a growing impact upon health care. The current pharmacological treatment of substance use disorders is far from satisfactory, highly effective medications to treat substance use disorders remains largely unmet. As an alternative treatment for drug addiction, acupuncture treatment of drug addiction started in the 1970s and is currently widely used in clinics. In this talk, he will introduce the clinical trials that test the efficacy of acupuncture treatment, as well as the mechanism studies on acupuncture treatment of drug addiction.
