Earth Science

As per available reports about 1 Relevant Journals, 2 Conferences are presently dedicated exclusively to Earth Science and about 238 articles are being published on Earth Science.

The Earth Observing System (EOS) is a program of NASA comprising a series of artificial satellite missions and scientific instruments in Earth orbit designed for long-term global observations of the land surface, biosphere, atmosphere, and oceans of the Earth.

Earth Observation satellites vary according to the type of orbit they have, the payload they carry, and, from the point of view of imaging instruments, the spatial resolution, spectral characteristics and swath width of the sensors. All these parameters are designed at the beginning of the mission definition depending on the application the satellite mission is targeting.

OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conference organize worldwide.

Aim & Scope: :

GEO was established in February 2005 by the Third Earth Science Summit in Brussels at the end of a process that started in 2003 with the First Earth Observation Summit in Washington, DC. It was launched in response to calls for action by the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development and the Group of Eight (G8) leading industrialized countries. These high-level meetings recognized that international collaboration is essential for exploiting the growing potential of Earth observations to support decision making in an increasingly complex and environmentally stressed world.

GEO is a voluntary partnership of governments and international organizations. It provides a framework within which these partners can develop new projects and coordinate their strategies and investments. As of January 2008, GEO’s membership includes 72 governments and the European Commission. In addition, 52 intergovernmental, international and regional organizations with a mandate in Earth observation or related issues have been recognized as participating organizations (see lists below). Each member and participating organization is represented by a so-called principal and a principal alternate. Members make financial contributions to GEO on a voluntary basis.

GEO is constructing GEOSS on the basis of a 10-Year Implementation Plan. Adopted by the Third Earth Observation Summit, the Plan runs from 2005 to 2015. It defines a vision statement for GEOSS, its purpose and scope, expected benefits, nine “Societal Benefit Areas” (disasters, health, energy, climate, water, weather, ecosystems, agriculture and biodiversity), technical and capacity-building priorities, and the GEO governance structure.

Market Analysis:

NSR's Satellite-Based Earth Observation (EO), 7th Edition report, released today, forecasts that data, value-added services and Information Products markets from Earth Observation (EO) will reach $4.5 billion by 2024, from $2.3 billion in 2014. A thriving Information Products segment will drive the EO market as the industry transitions to an era of very-high resolution imagery and increased adoption of 'big data' analytics products in the face of decreasing data prices for medium and high resolution imagery. The market saw a sizable increase of $200 million in 2014 due to an economic recovery leading to greater expenditure by governments, and a thriving Information Products segment.
