Computer Vision

As per available reports about 18 relevant journals, 116 Conferences, 32 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to computer vision and about 6345 articles are being published on computer vision.

Computer vision is a field that includes methods for acquiring, processing, analyzing, and understanding images and, in general, high-dimensional data from the real world in order to produce numerical or symbolic information. The image data can take many forms, such as video sequences, views from multiple cameras, or multi-dimensional data from a medical scanner. Sub-domains of computer vision include scene reconstruction, event detection, video tracking, object recognition, learning, indexing, motion estimation, and image restoration. The field of computer vision is rapidly progressing and their applications have been increasing blisteringly. One of the most prominent application fields is medical computer vision or medical image processing. This area is distinguished by the extraction of information from image data for the purpose of making a medical diagnosis of a patient. Generally, image data is in the form of microscopy images, X-ray images, angiography images, ultrasonic images, and tomography images. An example of information which can be extracted from such image data is detection of tumors, arteriosclerosis or other malign changes. It can also be measurements of organ dimensions, blood flow, etc. This application area also supports medical research by providing new information, e.g., about the structure of the brain, or about the quality of medical treatments. Applications of computer vision in the medical area also includes enhancement of images that are interpreted by humans, for example ultrasonic images or X-ray images, to reduce the influence of noise.

OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conference organize worldwide.

Scope and Importance:

The field of computer vision has vastly improved since it began in the 1960s. Computers can now quickly and accurately recognize thousands of faces, as well as a growing number of other objects. Although computer vision currently lacks the subtlety, versatility, and general capabilities of human vision, the gap is steadily closing. Dr. Fei Fei Li is an expert on the field of computer vision, and she and her colleagues at Stanford University are working on advancing the state of the art. In an interview with Sander Olson for Next Big Future, Dr. Li describes the importance of math and algorithms to computer vision, and why she believes that computer vision systems may be able to match human visual systems within the next twenty years.

Market Analysis:

After being a research technology for the past few decades, computer vision has become commercialized in the past few years and is being deployed in a wide range of application markets including security and surveillance, automotive, consumer, industrial, medical, and entertainment, to name a few. According to a new report from Tractica, the market for computer vision technologies will grow from $5.7 billion in 2014 to $33.3 billion by 2019, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 42%.  The market intelligence firm forecasts that the consumer segment will experience the highest growth rate, followed by the robotics and machine vision segment.
