Endoscopy means looking inside and typically refers to looking inside the body for medical reasons using an endoscope, an instrument used to examine the interior of a hollow organ or cavity of the body. Unlike most other medical imaging devices, endoscopes are inserted directly into the organ. Endoscope can also refer to using a borescope in technical situations where direct line of-sight observation is not feasible. An Endoscopy is a simple procedure which allows a doctor to look inside human bodies using an instrument called an endoscope. A cutting tool can be attached to the end of the endoscope, and the apparatus can then be used to perform surgery. This type of surgery is called Key hole surgery, and usually leaves only a tiny scar externally.
Endoscopy is a procedure that lets your doctor look inside your body. It uses an instrument called an endoscope, or scope for short. Scopes have a tiny camera attached to a long, thin tube. The doctor moves it through a body passageway or opening to see inside an organ. Sometimes scopes are used for surgery, such as for removing polyps from the colon.
There are many different kinds of endoscopy. Here are the names of some of them and where they look.
Arthroscopy: joints
Bronchoscopy: lungs
Colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy: large intestine
Cystoscopy and ureteroscopy: urinary system
Laparoscopy: abdomen or pelvis
Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy: esophagus and stomach
Endoscopy conference is dedicated to the advance of skilled endoscopic practice through workshops, publication of guidelines, and research. The theme of the conference is to improve quality patient care through education, research, innovation and leadership, principally in gastrointestinal and endoscopic surgery. This three-day medical conference will present state-of-the-art information on cutting-edge endoscopy procedures. The evidence-based and clinically-applicable program will use video demonstrations of the latest procedures as well as cover contemporary issues in training, research for young researcher
