As per available reports about 56 relevant journals, 270 Conference proceedings, 78 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to Heart medicine and about 1,270 articles are being published on Heart medicine.
Heart medicine are drugs that are given in case of heart diseases such as Coronary artery disease, Cardiomyopathy, Heart failure, Cor pulmonale, Cardiac dysrhythmias, Endocarditis, Myocarditis, Valvular heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, Peripheral arterial disease, congenital heart disease and Rheumatic heart disease. Heart medicine is used to treat the symptoms or may help prevent the disease from becoming worse. Heart medicine is needed to be taken every day. Some medicines are taken once a day. Others need to be taken 2 or more times daily. It is very important that heart medicine is taken at the right time and in the way it is prescribed. Heart medicine is of different types such as ACE inhibitors (angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors) and ARBs (angiotensin II receptor blockers), Antiarrhythmics, Antiplatelet Drugs, Aspirin Therapy, Beta-Blocker Therapy, Calcium Channel Blocker Drugs, Clot Buster Drugs, Digoxin, Diuretics, Nitrates, Warfarin and Other Blood Thinners.
ACE inhibitors (angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors) and ARBs (angiotensin II receptor blockers) work by opening blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. These medicines can reduce the work the heart has to do, Helps heart muscle pump better, and Keep the heart failure from getting worse. Beta blockers slow heart rate and decrease the strength with which heart muscle contracts in the short term. Long term beta blockers helps keep heart failure from becoming worse. They may also help strengthen the heart. Diuretics help the body to get rid of extra fluid. Some types of diuretics may also help in other ways. These drugs are often called "water pills." The most common types are different types of diuretics are available such as Thiazides, Loop diuretics and Potassium-sparing agents. Digoxin helps increase the heart's pumping strength and slow the heart rate. Hydralazine and nitrates opens up arteries and help the heart muscle pump better. These drugs are mainly used by patients who are unable to tolerate ACE inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers. Calcium channel blockers are used to control blood pressure or angina (chest pain) from coronary artery disease (CAD).
Keeping in view of the importance of Heart medicine a large number of conference are being organized all over the world such as 19 in Europe like Preventive Medicine and Cardiology 2015, 8 IN Asia like 2nd Annual International Conference on Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine Research (CCMR 2014), 52 IN USA like 3rd international conference on translational medicine 2014.
Around 32 National symposiums and Workshops are going to be held across the globe which includes “NHLBI Symposium on Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine”, “14th Annual UCSD Heart Failure Symposium for Primary Care and Internal Medicine Physicians”, “Know Heart Disease – An Interactive and Educational Workshop”, “National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Public Workshop: Risks and Benefits of Hydroxyethyl Starch Solutions” and so on.
Scope of heart medicine:
In most people, heart disease develops through a lifetime of cigarettes, Trans- fats or high glycemic foods. For only a minority of patients does the cause lie in their genes. But when such atypical patients show up for treatment, figuring out why their hearts aren’t working has been a huge challenge for their doctors. The process of deciding if a heart patient’s problem is genetic and, if so, which gene defects might be causing the problem can take weeks or months, cost a thousand dollars or more, and, at the end, leaves physicians still scratching their heads over a mountain of uncertain data. Importance of heart medicine: The continuing epidemic of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in the United States and globally calls for renewed and intensified public health action to prevent heart disease and stroke. Public health agencies at national, state, and local levels (including CDC in partnership with NIH) bear a special responsibility to meet this call, along with tribal organizations and all other interested partners. The widespread occurrence and silent progression of atherosclerosis and high blood pressure (the dominant conditions underlying heart disease and stroke) has created a CVD burden that is massive in terms of its attendant death, disability, and social and economic costs. This burden is projected to increase sharply by 2020 because of the changing age structure of the U.S. population and other factors, including the rising prevalence of obesity and diabetes. Several popular myths and misconceptions have obscured this reality, and these must be dispelled through effective communication with the public at large and with policy maker.
Market Analysis:
The global cardiovascular device industry (part of the medical devices market) is growing rapidly and exhibits signs that it will continue to evolve and expand to reach over $97 billion by 2015, up from nearly $85 billion in 2010 according to a study from BCC Research. This boom is strongly supported by a variety of heart health-related problems that are steadily increasing in number around the world: Over 80 million people suffer from cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) globally reports the American Heart Association, with more than 17 million deaths every year.
