Pollen Allergy Medicine

As per available reports about 139 Conference Proceeedings 4 Upcoming Conferences are presently dedicated exclusively to Pollen Allergy and about 44 National symposiums, 44 Open Access Articles are being published on Pollen Allergy.

Each spring, summer, and fall, tiny particles are released from trees, weeds, and grasses. These particles, known as pollen, hitch rides on currents of air. Although their mission is to fertilize parts of other plants, many never reach their targets. Instead, they enter human noses and throats, triggering a type of seasonal allergic rhinitis called pollen allergy, which many people know as hay fever or rose fever (depending on the season in which the symptoms occur). Of all the things that can cause an allergy, pollen is one of the most widespread. Many of the foods, drugs, or animals that cause allergies can be avoided to a great extent; even insects and household dust are escapable. Short of staying indoors when the pollen count is high--and even that may not help--there is no easy way to evade windborne pollen. Hay Fever Hay fever (Allergic Rhinitis) is the most common of the allergic diseases and refers to seasonal nasal symptoms that are due to pollens. Year round or perennial allergic rhinitis is usually due to indoor allergens, such as dust mites or molds. And the medicines used to treat this kind of allergy is called Pollen allergy medicines.

Scope and Global Impact:

Nasal Steroids, Antihistamines, Decongestants, Other Medications and Combinations are used to avoid pollens. They relieve congestion, a runny or itchy nose, sneezing, and other symptoms. These drugs work against the chemical histamine. Body makes histamine during an allergic reaction, and it causes the symptoms that make us miserable. Antihistamines are available in pills and nasal sprays. The pills target itching, sneezing, and runny nose. The nasal sprays work on congestion, an itchy or runny nose, and postnasal drip. Some steroid sprays require a doctor’s prescription, but two of them, fluticasone (Flonase) and triamcinolone (Nasacort), do not. It’s best to start using them before pollen season begins and to keep taking them as long as it lasts. It may take up to a week before symptoms get better.

Roughly 7.8% of people 18 and over in the U.S. have hay fever. In 2010, White children in the U.S. were more likely to have had hay fever (10%) than black children (7%).Worldwide, allergic rhinitis affects between 10% and 30 % of the population. Worldwide, sensitization (IgE antibodies) to foreign proteins in the environment is present in up to 40% of the population. In 2012, 7.5% or 17.6 million adults were diagnosed with hay fever in the past 12 months. In 2012, 9.0% or 6.6 million children reported hay fever in the past 12 months. In 2010, 11.1 million visits to physician offices resulted with a primary diagnosis of allergic rhinitis.
