Radiotherapy is a treatment involving the use of high-energy radiation. It's commonly used to treat cancer.Today, the interdisciplinary care of prostate cancer has become a reality, and urologists along with radiation, surgical, and medical oncologists are all involved in the management of these patients. In order to provide optimal care, it is essential that all members of the treatment team stay up-to-date on current trends and emerging data, not just in their own area, but also in the related specialties such as Prostate Cancer: What All Men Must Know, Prostate cancer: Current topics and future perspectives, Latest Research on Prostate Cancer, Treating Prostate Cancer and Prostate Cancer: Bone Metastases.

Scope and Importance
Radiotherapy Conference provides the scope for opportunities to learn progressed by international scientists and academicians. Radiotherapy is the treatment of cancer by using radiations such as x-rays, gamma rays, protons or electron beams. It is done to damage or kill the cancer cells for further growing and multiplying. It is a localised treatment, which affects the part of the body to which radiation is done. Along with cancer cells, it can also damage some normal cells, but they have the capacity to repair themselves. During this process there may be some temporary side effects.
Radiotherapy is done by two methods. They are:
External Radiotherapy: The radiations come from a machine, outside of your body and don’t come in contact with you. At first you will be positioned on a treatment couch and radiation beams are directed towards the cancer and surrounding tissues where the cancer may have spread.
Internal Radiotherapy: The radiation source is put inside the body. Brachytherapy is one of the methods where solid radioactive sources are placed inside the body. Another method is by using a liquid source of radiation, which is known as radionuclide. It can be taken into the mouth or by an injection into the vein.
Market Analysis
The global radiotherapy devices market was over USD 4.7 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach over USD 6 billion by 2018, at CAGR of about 5.5% from 2012-2018.External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT) commands the largest share of the radiation therapy market with an estimated 84% or $4.9 billion in revenue.
