Regimental therapy is one of the most popular methods of treatment, practiced by ancient Unani scholars since antiquity. It is basically application of certain special techniques or physical methods of treatment to improve the constitution of body by removing waste materials and improving the defence mechanism of the body. In other words, regimental therapies are mostly non medicinal techniques or procedures by which Unani physicians modulate the patient’s habitat, life style and dietary habits of the patient. They practice some other therapeutic regimens for the treatment of various diseases. It is a method, through which maintenance of general health and care of the sick person are attained through modulation or modification in six essential factors for life. These regimes are actually meant for the evacuation of morbid humours from the body. These morbid humours are true culprits which are basically responsible for the onset of disease. As soon as these morbid humours are removed from the body by applying some regimens, normal health gets restored.

Scope and Importance
Regimental therapy is one of the four prescribed modes of treatment of Unani system, which has played significant role in maintaining human health. Regimental therapy is an emerging entity from Tibb for wellbeing of a person. The growth of unani medicine as spread its roots in the western countries as a part of the complementary health services and holistic healthcare services, as a branch of alternate medicine it is spreading its frontiers from the east to the west. By regimen it pertains to the management of essential factors which have been enumerated and or operating on life in a regular custom. Ibn-e- Sina, an eminent Unani scholar wrote in his famous book “Canon of Medicine”, that there are almost 36 regimens. Some examples of these regimens include, Venesection, Cupping, Diauresis, Sweating, Purgation, Turkish bath, Massage, Cauterization, Emesis, Exercise, Leeching, Enema, Inhalation, Expectoration, Counter Irritation, and Hydration Therapy. Due to their negligible side effects and environment friendly nature, even developed countries are also emphasising the use of regimental therapies prescribed by Unani physicians thousands year back as special regimens to treat the diseases as well as to maintain the body in good health.
Market analysis
The global alternative medicine sector is expected to reach close to $115 billion by 2016, according to Global Industry Analysts. Market growth is fuelled by a trend toward herbal and nature-based products, based on the presumption these products cause fewer side effects than modern medicines. Alternative medicine disciplines such as acupuncture, homeopathy, massage, ayurveda, and traditional Chinese medicine are being practiced more widely in the western world. Around 75% of the population in emerging nations receive alternative medical healthcare, compared with over half of the population of developed nations, particularly for lifestyle-related diseases. Chinese Traditional Medicine ( TCM) market is rapidly developing since later of 1990s. In 2010, the output value of TCM amounted to RMB317.2 billion (about €36.8 billion), which increased 24%. The net yield and profits of TCM production is much higher than the average for the country's medical industry. The total TCM market in China will rise to €96,2 billion in 2025.
