Recommended Conferences for Aplastic anemia

Aplastic anemia

As per available reports about 10 relevant journals, 20 Conferences, 10  workshops  are presently dedicated exclusively to aplastic anemia and about 130 articles are being published on aplastic anemia.

Aplastic anemia  is a condition where the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells. The cells in the bone marrow itself are damaged and so white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets are produced in very low numbers. If your bone marrow can't make enough new blood cells, many health problems can occur. These problems include arrhythmias, an enlarged heart, heart failure, infections, and bleeding. Severe aplastic anemia can even be fatal. The causes are unknown and many factors like viral infection, exposure to chemicals and radiation, use of certain drugs and Auto-Immune disorders  have been attributed to this condition. It is commonly diagnosed in teens and those in their twenties. Aplastic anemia can develop slowly or rapidly. The treatments vary according to the underlying cause, for example immune mediated aplastic anemia is treated by immune-suppressants. Aplastic anemia (AA) is a disease in which the bone marrow, and the blood stem cells that reside there, are damaged. This causes a deficiency of all three blood cell types (pancytopenia): red blood cells (anemia), white blood cells (leukopenia), and platelets (thrombocytopenia). Aplastic refers to inability of the stem cells to generate the mature blood cells. The most serious cases require a bone marrow transplant. Mostly Hematologists, oncologists and orthopedics are specialized in this kind of transplantation surgeries. Hematology conferences, workshops and symposiums are an excellent platform to share and experience the latest advancement in the diagnosis, treatment and research methodologies

Importance and Scope

Aplastic anemia is an uncommon but potentially serious hematological disorder. It is characterized by pancytopenia secondary to a hypocellular bone marrow. Aplastic anemia accounts for 20-30% cases presenting with pancytopenia in referral centers.1 The frequency of aplastic anemia seen in hospitals of Asian countries is higher than reported from the West, but the precise incidence of this disorder in India is not known.
