Aquasomes
As per available reports about 43 relevant Journals, 54 Conferences, 26 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to aquasomesand about 3,875articles are being published on aquasomes.
Aquasomes are one of the most recently developed delivery system for bioactive molecules like peptide, protein, hormones, antigens and genes to specific sites. Aquasomes are spherical in shape with 60–300 nm particles size. These are nanoparticulate carrier systems but instead of being simple nanoparticles these are three layered self-assembled structures, comprised of a solid phase nanocrystalline core coated with oligomeric film to which biochemically active molecules are adsorbed with or without modification. These structures are self-assembled by non-covalent and ionic bonds. The solid core provides the structural stability, while the carbohydrate coating protects against dehydration and stabilizes the biochemically active molecules. The delivery system has been successfully utilized for the delivery of insulin, hemoglobin, and enzymes like serratiopeptidase etc.
OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conference organize worldwide.
Scope and Importance:
Aquasomes have given a new hope for the pharmaceutical plasticizer, a carbohydrate prevent the destructive drug carrier interaction and helps to preserve the spatial qualities and the crystalline nature of core, gives structural stability and overall integrity. The drug candidates delivered through the aquasomes show better biological activity even in case of conformationally sensitive ones. This is probably due to the presence of the unique carbohydrate coating the ceramic. Also these formulations have been found to evoke a better immunological response and could be used as immune adjuvant for proteinaceous antigens. This approach thus provides pharmaceutical scientists with new hope for the delivery of bioactive molecules. Still, considerable further study of aquasomes is necessary with respect to pharmacokinetics, toxicology, and animal studies to confirm their efficiency as well as safety, so as to establish their clinical usefulness and to launch them commercially
Aquasome mechanism of action is controlled by their surface chemistry. Aquasomes deliver contents through combination of specific targeting, molecular shielding, and slow and sustained release process. Aquasome water like properties provides a platform for preserving the conformational integrity and bio chemical stability of bio-actives. Aquasomes due to their size and structural stability, avoid clearance by reticulo endothelial system or degradation by other environmental challenges. Aquasome is colloidal range biodegradable nanoparticles, so that they will be more concentrated in liver and muscles. Since the drug is absorbed on to the surface of the system without further surface modification as in case of insulin and antigen delivery, they may not find any difficulty in receptor recognition on the active site so that the pharmacological or biological activity can be achieved immediately.
Market Analysis:
According to IMS Health Consulting, an international research company, in 2012 the size of the global pharmaceutical market reached $940 billion. In monetary terms it grew by 6%. In the future the sector is expected to grow at no less than 3% to 4% a year and if this happens the global pharmaceutical market is expected to reach $1.1 trillion by 2015 and will reach $1.2 trillion in 2016 and up to $1.5 trillion by 2020. The global demographic, epidemiological and economic changes are transforming the pharmaceutical market. The world population is growing rapidly and is projected to raise from 7 billion in 2011 to 7.7 billion in 2020 and 9.6 billion in 2050, hence an increase in the demand for pharmaceuticals.
