As per available reports about 3 Conference proceedings, 4 National Symposiums are presently dedicated exclusively to transient ischemic attack and 2 Open Access articles are being published on transient ischemic attack.
A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is a transient episode of neurologic dysfunction caused by ischemia (loss of blood flow) – focal brain, spinal cord, or retinal – without acute infarction (tissue death). TIAs have the same underlying cause as strokes: a disruption of cerebral blood flow (CBF), and are often referred to as mini-strokes. This is different from the definition of TIA used before 2009, which was based on the temporal, arbitrary time point of < 24 hours of associated neurological symptoms.[1] TIAs cause the same symptoms associated with stroke, such as contralateral paralysis (opposite side of body from affected brain hemisphere) or sudden weakness or numbness.
Transient ischemic attack is a heart disease. Researchers are doing current research in cardiology on this attack. Cardiovascular Drugs and Cardiac surgery are used to treat this disease.

Scope and Importance:
Evidence-based recommendations are included for the control of risk factors, interventional approaches for atherosclerotic disease, antithrombotic treatments for cardio embolism, and the use of antiplatelet agents for non-cardio embolic stroke. Further recommendations are provided for the prevention of recurrent stroke in a variety of other specific circumstances, including arterial dissections; patent foramen ovale; hyperhomocysteinemia; hypercoagulable states; sickle cell disease; cerebral venous sinus thrombosis; stroke among women, particularly with regard to pregnancy and the use of postmenopausal hormones.
Market Analysis:
Large cohort and population-based studies reported in the last5 years have demonstrated a higher risk of early stroke after TIA than generally suspected. Ten percent to 15% of patients have a stroke within 3 months, with half occurring within 48hours.
