Building Information Modeling

As per available reports about 4 relavant Journals,, 3 upcoming Conferences and 238 Conferences Proceedings, are presently dedicated exclusively to Building Information modeling and about 216 Open Access articles are being published on Building Information modeling.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places. Current BIM software is used by individuals, businesses and government agencies who plan, design, construct, operate and maintain diverse physical infrastructures, from water, wastewater, electricity, gas, refuse and communication utilities to roads, bridges and ports, from houses, apartments, schools and shops to offices, factories, warehouses and prisons, etc. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is one of the sub tracks under Construction Engineering track in OMICS group conference.Topics like: Construction Engineering, Cold formed steel, Green construction are of interest.

OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conference organize worldwide.

Scope & Importance:

Traditional building design was largely reliant upon two-dimensional drawings (plans, elevations, sections, etc.). Building information modeling extends this beyond 3D, augmenting the three primary spatial dimensions (width, height and depth) with time as the fourth dimension (4D) and cost as the fifth (5D), etc. BIM therefore covers more than just geometry. It also covers spatial relationships, light analysis, geographic information, and quantities and properties of building components. Due to the complexity of gathering all the relevant information when working with BIM on a building project some companies have developed software designed specifically to work in a BIM framework.Use of BIM goes beyond the planning and design phase of the project, extending throughout the building life cycle, supporting processes including cost management, construction management, project management and facility operation. BIM is a relatively new technology in an industry typically slow to adopt change. Yet many early adopters are confident that BIM will grow to play an even more crucial role in building documentation. Proponents claim that BIM offers:

  1. Improved visualization
  2. Improved productivity due to easy retrieval of information
  3. Increased coordination of construction documents
  4. Embedding and linking of vital information such as vendors for specific materials, location of details and quantities required for estimation and tendering
  5. Increased speed of delivery
  6. Reduced costs

Numerous organizations have initiatives underway to develop a National BIM Standard. The following sections provide links and describe the efforts underway to develop a standard for information sharing that will help weave all stakeholders into a common fabric.

Market Analysis:

Building information modelling (BIM) is the next generation process in the construction industry, useful for designing buildings and managing the project data for crucial decisions to be taken. The quality of building information modeling process is determined by reducing costs, saving time, and improving speed of the process. BIM is emerging in developed and developing countries, with relatively lower turnaround times in developing countries as building information modeling software is available at higher prices with respect to the concerned economy Building information modeling market report has been defined as the process which is implemented with different types of software and services available for various end-users such as contractors, architects, developers, Facilities Managers (FMs), building product manufacturers, and others across different fields such as commercial, residential, educational, healthcare, entertainment, sports, and so on. The growth of the market is propelled by the proliferation of green buildings in the current market, cost reduction during the entire process, and increased production efficiencies and government mandates for the usage of building information modeling in many developed countries. The high growth potential in emerging markets such as the Asia-pacific region, complex structures of the health care organizations such as hospitals and medical centres, and industries/infrastructures provide new growth opportunities to the players in the building information modeling market. This report describes the market trends, drivers, and challenges of the building information modeling market and forecasts the market by 2020, based on end-users, types, applications, and geography. It covers the future of the global market and industry from both technical and market-oriented perspectives with techno-market oriented roadmaps till 2020 and a detailed competitive landscape with identification of the key players with respect to each type of market, in-depth market share analysis along with individual market values. It covers geographies such as North America, Europe, APAC, and RoW (Rest of the World).
